Our Five Star Member is designed to provide a clear path for involvement, and learning opportunities ensuring that each member is connected, and grows in influence in the political arena. The plan is structured around a five-star system, each level representing different tiers of engagement and commitment to Democrats with exclusive benefits.

Self-Report Your Progress

5 Stars Young Democrats

Each level is an opportunity too learn how to be an influential young democrat. Your chapter leadership is available to help you reach each level. Once you have completed a level, self report it to update your Member Status.

> Sign up as a Entry level member
> Pay your dues or request a Fee Waiver
> Attend an event of SFYD (not membership meeting)
> Attend a mobilization for a candidate endorsed by SFYD
> Introduce yourself to an elected official at an SFYD Member
> Become Eligible to Vote (Attend three eligible to vote events in the last 12 months
> Attend a fall or Winter Fundraising Event
> Grab a coffee with a board member
> Attend a committee meeting
> Recruit a new member
> Send a Sponsorship Ask
> Host a fundraiser for an endorsed item
> Attend 75% of our membership meetings of the current year
> Write a letter to the editor of a major news paper publication
> Host a recruitment party

Entry Level Membership

Our $35 annual membership fee help us with operations of the club. If this is a barrier to join SFYD, send us an email to membership@sfyd.org asking for a fee waiver with your name and we will waive the fee!
You will have access to exclusive opportunities to network with elected officials and the upcoming political events. Jobs and latest news also included!

Elegible to Vote

Alright, you have demostrated your commitment as Young Democrat. Your membership pacakge willlk include a welcome letter by leadership in the party and the club, some swag, your certificate of eligibility to vote, and SFYD Pin.
Included in your Membership Package, you will receive a hella cool SFYD Pin! Wear it around political events so Politc@s know you are a voting member at SF Young Democrats!
With tons of events happening every month, the club receives complementary ticket. You receive priority for complimentary tickets for events.
